I always thought those churches with the sassy sign sayings were fake, but I happened to pass one today.

communismkills:

It said “The Bible has a word for safe sex: marriage”.

In all regards, that is true. The only way to have actual “safe” sex is to wait for marriage and practice abstinence. The only way to make sure your boyfriend won’t leave you when he founds out your pregnant is to be in a deeply emotional, committed relationship.

…because only married people have emotional, committed relationships. Seriously could this bitch get any more naive?

"A further deliberate distortion is that liberals think abortion is “non-invasive.” This insinuates that we think it is no big deal. Nobody thinks this. We think it’s a traumatic and heart-wrenching decision to make but absolutely private and no one else’s business. Our goal is to make them safe and as rare as possible. Conservatives think pregnancy is a divine punishment for women having sex and want to do everything they can to ensure as many “punishment pregnancies” possible. Why else do you think they oppose contraception and sex ed so bitterly?
This is how the right debases political and moral debates in this country. Liberals says, “We want to keep violent criminals from buying guns” and a conservative will claim we said, “Ban all guns.” Liberals say, “We want everyone to have access to healthcare” and a conservative will claim we said, “Kill the sick and elderly.” Liberals say, “America is open to all religions, not just Christianity” and a conservative will claim we said, “Ban Christianity and the Bible.”
This is how people who are afraid to confront their own failings respond. Rather than simply admit their greed or fear or prejudice, they mischaracterize our positions to make it easier on their conscience when they oppose us. If conservatives would only be honest about their motivations, we could have an honest conversation but that will never happen as long as the political platform of the right is built on hate and anger. How many MRAs does it take to change a lightbulb?

jerrymuffinbutt:

Fifteen.

  • One to claim women force men to “be the lightbulb changers”.
  • One to claim women use men for their lightbulbs.
  • One to claim women use men for their money so they can buy lightbulbs.
  • Three to claim feminists broke the lightbulb.
  • Two to say they won’t change any lightbulbs if feminists use them.
  • And seven to stand around in fedoras while talking about how women only date douchebags that break lightbulbs.

Gotta love feminism and equality.
If I punched a guy, why shouldn’t he punch me back? It’s not like I’m not going to punch him again.

your internalized misogyny is showing. Oh, and by the way, most feminists agree that there are multiple gender norms, roles, and double standards that are harmful to both women and men. So please stop inaccurately framing feminism like this, it’s just ignorant.
waaaah. who cares. I’m don’t have internalized misogyny. Sorry that I like the current “gender norms and roles.” And sorry that I have common sense. And sorry that I also like to just speak my mind and stand up for myself and not play a victim instead of saying “i’m a feminist and this man is being misogynistic.”
Feminists are so dependent.
Get over your movement and actually do something meaningful to show that you’re equal.
Btw, don’t like the double standards? Don’t comply with them. No one gets anywhere by just crying and saying “it’s such a double standard. waaah.”
Gosh. Feminism makes me so snarky.

Oh, who was whining again when they posted this ignorant graphic about double standards? wah wah men can’t hit women! And actually, people *do* get somewhere by calling out and critiquing society. 19th amendment? Civil Rights movement? All I’m saying is, if you’re so right about feminism, you wouldn’t have to mischaracterize it as something it isn’t. Also, were you not just implying women need to go out and “prove” they’re actually equal, as opposed to just accepting that we are? Sounds like internalized misogyny to me.
I posted it to show how feminists will never be happy with being equal because they don’t want to be equal, they want to be superior.
Sorry you don’t get that.
Not my fault.
And I ain’t the one characterizing it incorrectly.
It’s the feminists who have bastardized what it means to be a feminist.
If anyone is a true feminist, it’s me. Because I’m true to myself and I do what I want to do and I accomplish what I want to accomplish and I think the way I want to think and I do all of that without people holding me back or trying to tell me what I should or shouldn’t be doing according to their standards.
If a strong, independent, truly feminist woman doesn’t need a man to hold her hand through life, then she sure a hell doesn’t need a group of women to hold her hand either.
Also, how are you accepting your equality if feminists are still running around like chickens with their heads cut off crying “equality! men are evil! appreciate us!”?
That just makes you look unequal.
And what I mean by “prove” is that as a sign of acceptance go out there and be equal and show that you’re equal and don’t let anyone get in your way and try to knock you down.
Duh.
You are just very set on me being a misogynist. But I am not. So don’t you have anything else better to do with your time?

Right, my bad. Sorry for not “getting” that you apparently know what I and other feminists want better than we do. We all want to be better than men, even though no feminist actually says or wants that (well, maybe the radical ones, but thats something else entirely) You were right. As a feminist, I definitely think all men are evil. And I should obviously be fighting for the kind of equality that allows men to beat women. What a hypocritical feminist I was before. Duh. I am glad you’ve shown me my true feelings by using totally true and factual stereotypes to describe feminism.

Wow

Seriously

This is pathetic.

How to quickly identify yourself as a moron:
Buy this shirt.

If I was gay I would take massive offense to this…hell as a human I take offense to this…but whats sad is there are those humans that are stupid enough to have bought this shirt.
Word.
While it does not say good things about the sell out president,
it says even worse things for the people who wear that shirt.
It pretty much says “Even though he’s just using me for votes and I’m basically a welcome mat for him, I’m so ignorant to what Obama is doing with the LGBT issue, that I made myself look like a bigger jerk by buying this tshirt. Now the Obama campaign has my dignity and my money!”

Obama is THEE most progressive president when it comes to LGBT issues EVER. In history. He repealed DADT, he refused to defend DOMA, he’s pushing for an inclusive ENDA, he signed an EO allowing same sex partners to visit each other in the hospital, he just publicly endorsed marriage equality even though it made no political sense, ETC ETC ETC

^exactly. Dipshits like CK and onenationundergod are acting like Obama has no integrity and he’s just doing this for votes even though it was obviously politically risky on his part (a detail fox news is not ignoring as they constantly claim he has no chance of winning). Obama fighting for gay rights isnt new. And he’s the only one fucking doing it…so fuck all of you. You acting like its so “shocking” that a politician is actually for lgbtq rights is borderline homophobic in my opinion. Just because you assholes don’t believe in equality doesn’t mean no one else does.
Let’s keep the name calling to a minimum please.
No one is saying that it is bad for him to be in support of it.
What I am saying is that his TIMING for the announcement was sooooo suspicious. In his announcement interview, he referred to himself excessively. While he was stating that he was supporting it, he talked about himself a lot. A lot more then you need to when stating support for a group. That suggests that he was doing it for himself to garner votes.
Also, continuing the TIMING issue, he did it the day after amendment one was voted on to pass. And all these tshirts began popping up so suddenly.
I am not denying that he has been a very progressive president and has done more for the LGBT community than any other president. I also resent that you call me homophobic. “Phobic” implies an irrational fear. I do not have a fear of gay people. Not only is that ridiculous, but that would mean I have friends that I’m afraid of. Which is stupid because if I was afraid of someone, I wouldn’t be their friend.
Now, back to my point. Although he has been very progressive with LGBT issues, his TIMING again is suspicious. If he has done so much to repeal and stop these laws, WHY didn’t he support the community a loooooooooooong time ago. He has sad before that he believes marriage is one man and one woman. And all of a sudden, during an election year and after amendment one was passed, he wants to shout his support from the rooftops.
So all we are saying is that his TIMING suggests that this announcement was a move to get votes for the upcoming election. If he really cared about the community and not the votes, he would have announced this support a looooooong time ago.
Also, the fact that he had a network tv interview to announce his support also shows that this is about him getting votes and that this is the “Barack Show.”
Also, as all of these examples suggest, he did do it because he believes it makes political sense.
So this is about TIMING and MOTIVE. Not some homophobic agenda.
Because I actually like his executive order. Everyone should be able to visit loved ones in the hospital. I also like ENDA. Gay people exist and I don’t care. I don’t want to rid the world of them. I just believe that marriage is a man and a woman like it has always been.
So lets not be so judgmental and call people out before you know why they believe what they believe, k.

Why does the timing matter?! I personally was a bit shocked by his announcement because I’m not sure its going to work for the reason you say he’s doing it. I mostly think it was brought on by Biden’s comment, anyway, since he jumped the gun as always. But whatever. So he announced it the day after NC did their bullshit, so what. Maybe he saw it, as I see it, as wrong and he’s taking a stand when tensions and emotions are high to say “hey I know this just happened but I’m with you”. And if he did this to get the gay vote (though I don’t think that is his motivation), well that’s politics. It isn’t something new that only Obama does. I’m not going to demonize Obama for being a politician. He wants to be president again, and there is strategy to that, every president has to be careful with what kinds of stuff they get away with in their first term. That’s just the game. Also, you started the name calling by calling all lgbts for Obama ignorant jerks because if you were part of a group that was constantly oppressed you definitely wouldnt side with the most progressive president in history.
Don’t blame Biden for jumping the gun. Biden was just being Biden. And that is why I love him. And that’s not sarcasm. I really do love him and the shit he says. After this politics thing, he should have his own reality show.
Moving on from the Biden adoration.
I know the strategy of politics. I get that. I don’t blame him for playing politics. But this is about timing. It is beyond obvious that this is all about votes for him and he isn’t even trying to cover it up and act like he cares. If he really cares, he would have said something about it a long long time ago. If he was really “with them” he wouldn’t have waited till an amendment was passed which is also 6 months before the election. It’s entirely disingenuous. I has previously said he believes marriage is between a man and a woman and now all of the sudden an amendment was passed 6 months before the election and he chooses that exact moment to come out of the support closet. It’s like he knew that people wanted him to say something about it so he gave them want they wanted to hear without being genuine about it. If he had said this six months ago or a year ago, I would not be criticizing him.
And I didn’t call LGBT jerks and I didn’t call them ignorant.
I said that people who are now going to vote for him because of this disingenuous revelation are ignorant because they just are like “yes master” and don’t even bother to look at why he did this and what motives he has.
And I called people who blindly believe him and then buy a tshirt jerks.
Believe it or not, I was talking about everyone. Because there are straight people who believe his nonsense and there are gay people who see right through him.
Also, stop with the oppression. We all come from oppression. You don’t see me running around saying “oh my Irish ancestors were oppressed in Ireland and then they came here and were still oppressed. And some Irish were sold by the English and sent to Barbados to be slaves on sugar plantations. And then my Slovak ancestors were oppressed by the Hungarians who were trying to force Magyarization on them. And then all my Irish, Slovak, and Italian ancestors came and were oppressed by Americans because they were Catholic and they weren’t considered ‘white’ and being Irish, Italian, or Eastern European was seen as being worse then being a ‘n*****’ at the time. And then the Catholics were still oppressed. And now Catholics and conservatives are being crucified by the main stream media and the Obama administration.” I don’t run around complaining about oppression. I see that as a point of strength. Because they were immigrants looking for a better life and now, as a fourth generation American, I’m living an amazing life and am so blessed and fortunate.
I wish people would stop playing the damn victim card all the damn time.
Yea, gay kids get bullied. Just like blacks kids were. Just like asians were. Just like muslims were. Just like jews were. Just like “non-white” Catholic immigrants were. Just like a million other kids today. And being bullied is not right.
But guess what, they aren’t being oppressed. No one is being oppressed. Go out there and be yourself and be amazing. You get further by being confident and strong and capable than you do by playing the victim card.
For example OWS. They’re such a “victim” of capitalism but maybe if they quit sitting around in a damn park and went out and worked hard then they could be rich and successful one day.

“No one is being oppressed”

uh still crying over this video while trying to get capers to pay attention to me and validate how fucking awesome it is while looking at pictures of puppies and trying to get capers to let us have one sigh

ok let’s shoot everyone that has drugs in their system

You’re implying that Trayvon Martin was shot for using drugs….

(1-2) My bad, but he was still a child. (3-5) Aren’t you implying the same? I also have a brain, you know. And I recognize that smoking weed isn’t necessarily immoral/wrong, and that either way “being perfect” doesn’t mean shit in this case (or any other case because no one is perfect, except perhaps you since you’re so right all the time and perfect and arrogant) because it isn’t a factor in whether or not you deserve to be killed by a guy that follows/chases you and calls you a fucking coon before he kills you in “self defense”

communismkills:

You’re implying that Trayvon Martin was shot for using drugs. You’re also ignoring the fact that the media has been portraying him as an angel who has never done anything wrong in his entire life.

you’re implying theres something morally wrong with smoking a little weed (instead of social). Or that because you do something “wrong” (even if it affects no one but you) you deserve to be killed at 14. shut up
